I decided to start this organization in the wake of my 17-year-old nephew’s best friend, also 17 years old and loved in the community, losing his life over a disagreement at a mutual friend’s house.  His best friend, was violently shot in the face over a misunderstanding while hanging out at a mutual friend, the perpetrators house recording music. The perpetrator, and longtime close friend of the boys then lied to the police about what had happened, but the truth couldn’t be hidden due to the apparent evidence it was clear what had actually taken place.  If justice is rightfully served, the perpetrator, and longtime close friend of both my nephew and the victim my nephew’s best friend, will spend the rest of his life in prison.  He is now being charged as an adult with first degree murder.

Two young people – lives lost.  Their friends broken and families – destroyed forever

This didn’t have to happen!  But it did, and I knew I couldn’t keep quiet.

Please join me in creating an anti-teen violence movement!  Let’s make our kids SAFE in our homes from these kinds of “in the heat of the moment” actions.

If you have registered guns, keep them locked up with proper handling knowledge and methods in place.  Keep sharp kitchen utensils in drawers and fists at bay.

No more kids bullying each other in person or cyber space!

Make sure you are accountable and involved with your kids and their actions.  Know your children’s friends.  Be at home when friends are over, if possible.

Educate your children, especially your teens, in the best way to resolve disputes or to agree to disagree.

Form buddy systems with other neighbors and parents of youth.

Teen violence is becoming more and more prevalent in all communities across the United States.

Let’s stamp out teen violence before it becomes the next “pandemic!”
